As a record collector since 1991 djsoulprovyder originally started collecting and playing 70’s soul jazz funk latin and rare groove alongside the ten piece acid jazz funk band Black2Basic. Together they ran a live music jam session called Spontaneous Construction for over 10 years which helped to cement his reputation for musicians and vocalist to improvise live over his DJ sets.

 

His current DJ sets include a selection of past and present music with a flexibility of joining the dots and crossing over many musical genres, journeying from his disco and afro-Latin jazz funk roots to a deep electronic tech house sound. He's played at various venues across London including the famous Jazz Cafe in Camden, Ronnie Scott’s, Koko, Sketch, Momo’s, Madame Jojo’s, Groucho Club, The Library, H Club, Trapeze and POW to name a few. He has performed at the Isle of Wight and V Festival for the award-winning Bacardi B-Bar, the legendary Southport Weekender and Love Supreme Jazz Festivals. 

 

For the past 8 years he has been one of the resident DJs at the Sunsplash Festival in Turkey, where he has played alongside artists, such as; Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, Osunlade, Karizma, Gilles Peterson, Norman Jay, Phil Asher, Atjazz, Shuya Okino, and Zara McFarlane. He now has residencies with Focus Africa in the UK, La Escollera Beach Club in Ibiza, the Asa Baako festival in Ghana and this year will see him play at the all new Embrace 2020 Music Festival in Greece.
