Incoming new release from Lea Lisa
Karakul is the sub-label of London based record shop Phonica that is focused on deeper House from around the globe. The labels roster has included Stockholm’s Omar Santis and the brilliant Al Zanders.
This time Karakul welcomes Lea Lisa to the fold with her latest offering ‘Keys Of Life’ featuring Chicago House legend Glenn Underground. On the ‘Keys Of Life EP’ Lea Lisa showcases here unquestionable talent. The title track is bumping yet soulful. It’s an uplifting piece of classic house but with a contemporary feel. The remix comes from Chicago luminary and legend Glenn Underground. On his ‘Esoteric Mix’, Glenn takes the track to a more ethereal place, with spacious pads that swirl above a squelching bass line. The ‘Esoteric Dub’ lets things breathe even more, twisting the music and its components into new shapes and forms

Sweden's Lighthouse Collective joining the UR family
Lighthouse is a party collective from Stockholm, Sweden. They started out in 2012 when they got together to do an independent party they felt was missing on the Stockholm club scene at the time. A few months and parties later they rented a loft space just outside the city where they threw parties, arranged dance battles, cooked dhal and had a great time. In the collective different DJ´s have come and gone but three have remained the backbone, they are: Rickard Wihlmer, Julian Wareing and Farsta Kalle. The collective have since moved on to play other independent parties, festivals and club nights mainly in Stockholm but occasionally in other cities too.
Lighthouse Radio broadcasts on 13 April 4 - 6pm BST
Chicago's Cordell Johnson joining the UR family
Cordell has been DJ’ing since 1981 and has taken inspiration from city pioneers like Farley "Funkin" Keith on WBMX, and Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy at the Power Plant, the Music Box & COD's. He went on to create HottWaxx Productions in the mid 80s and has worked with long-time friend Steve 'Silk' Hurley. Cordell is currently providing a movement for dancers and music lovers by encouraging people to take an "Excursion" off the beaten path of music and the usual scene in Chicago.
Simply put... it’s an exploration into the diverse sounds of soulful house music in the Windy City, a sound that’s deeply infused with the rhythms of the Afro-Latino diaspora

Mike Hall aka Wave Funktion is a Bristol based music producer and DJ. As a teen growing up in Liverpool during the late '80s and '90s, the emerging UK rave scene kicked off a lifelong passion for House and Techno. After relocating to Bristol and becoming a serious vinyl addict he began DJing at many underground nights around the city. Dabbling in music production through borrowing friends' studios and synths led to him eventually setting up a small home studio and getting heavily into sound design and electronic music production. Expect everything from deep dub and future drone soundscapes to minimal techno and Detroit bombs.
